Abstract

Social media has revolutionized how individuals perceive themselves and engage in relationships, influencing both identity formation and interpersonal dynamics. Platforms offer avenues for self-expression but also present challenges of authenticity and self-esteem. Online interactions blur the lines between virtual and real-life relationships, fostering connectivity but also superficial connections. The constant exposure to curated content fuels comparison and unrealistic standards, straining interpersonal bonds. Furthermore, social media shapes societal norms and values, impacting perceptions of beauty, success, and happiness. Despite its potential for connectivity, social media's influence on identity and relationships requires careful consideration to navigate its complexities and promote healthy digital engagement.
