Abstract

This meta-analysis examines the relationship between socioeconomic status (SES) and academic achievement across a wide range of studies. Drawing from a diverse pool of literature, including research from education, sociology, and psychology, this study synthesizes findings to provide a comprehensive understanding of how SES influences academic performance. Results indicate a significant and consistent association between SES and academic achievement, with higher SES generally correlating with better academic outcomes. However, the analysis also reveals nuanced patterns, including variations across different academic subjects and grade levels. By elucidating the complex interplay between socioeconomic factors and academic success, this meta-analysis offers insights that can inform educational policies and interventions aimed at reducing disparities and promoting equity in education.
